CEO / Co-Founders Message

Dear Partners, Students, and Coworkers,

Giving Maldivians access to high-quality education that equips them for actual job in a changing world was our sole goal when we established the Island Institute of Tertiary Education in 2010. What began as a maritime training facility has expanded into an organization with three schools, more than 45 authorized programs, and over 12,000 graduates who are currently employed in the business sector, the marine industry, and skilled crafts all throughout the Maldives and beyond.

The student is what really important, and we have never forgotten that. One question guides every program we create, collaboration we establish, and outreach center we develop in the atolls: does this increase the accessibility and utility of education for the people we serve? We don’t gather accomplishments for their own sake, like as ISO 9001:2015 certification, UK-recognized credentials through ABMA, and an expanding network of island council alliances. Regardless of where in the Maldives they reside, they are instruments that elevate every student who enters our doors.

After fifteen years, we are pleased with what IITE has developed into and confident about how much more we hope to achieve. We have started the APACC regional accreditation process and are presently pursuing College Designation from the Ministry of Higher Education. Both are milestones in the direction of creating an organization that can confidently compete with the finest in the Asia.
