Program Description
A foundational certification, the National Certificate 3 in School Laboratory Techniques is intended to give students the fundamental knowledge, practical skills, and competences needed to support laboratory operations in educational institutions. In order to maintain an efficient and well-organized school laboratory environment, this curriculum focuses on developing the basic laboratory methods, safety protocols, and scientific practices.
Learners will obtain hands-on experience in basic scientific testing techniques, equipment handling, laboratory facility management, and safety protocols. Preparing standard and stock solutions, conducting instrumental and non-instrumental laboratory tests, implementing laboratory quality standards, and adhering to workplace norms and procedures are just a few of the fundamental skills covered in the program. Along with acquiring workplace skills in communication, professionalism, occupational health and safety, customer service, first aid, fire response, and computer operations, students will also learn basic knowledge in physics and mathematics related to laboratory operations.
