Program Description

A technical and practical qualification, the National Certificate 3 in Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Mechanic is intended to give students the fundamental knowledge, practical skills, and competencies needed to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair refrigeration and air-conditioning systems. The goal of this program is to provide students with the industry-relevant skills they need to perform efficiently in home air conditioning and refrigeration services.

Students will have hands-on experience installing window and split-type air conditioners, fixing and maintaining air conditioning systems, and setting up and maintaining refrigerators, deep freezers, display units, bottle coolers, water coolers, and mobile refrigeration systems. Additionally, the program helps students grasp the practical and technical requirements of refrigeration and cooling systems by teaching them how to prepare estimates for installation and maintenance work.
