Program Description

The National Certificate 3 in Guesthouse Operations is a practical, industry-focused degree created to give students the fundamental information, abilities, and skills needed to support the seamless and effective management of guesthouses in the Maldives. This curriculum equips participants to carry out a variety of customer service and hospitality tasks while upholding high standards in lodging and travel services.

Students will gain hands-on experience in guesthouse housekeeping, room preparation, reservation management, guest arrival and departure services, customer service, and resolving complaints and questions from visitors. Administration of the guesthouse office, financial operations, food and beverage services, laundry services, upkeep of the guesthouse grounds, and planning excursions and tourist activities are all included in the program. Students will also learn about Maldivian history and culture so they can interact and help tourists more effectively.

In order to prepare students for real-world hospitality settings, the curriculum places a strong emphasis on workplace professionalism, knowledge of the tourism business, health and safety protocols, communication skills, first aid, fire response, and computer operations.
