Program Description

The National Certificate 3 in Fiberglass Boat Building is a specialized foundational certification created to give students the technical know-how, capabilities, and practical understanding needed in the field of building and maintaining fiberglass boats. This program offers practical instruction in fiberglass boat construction methods with an emphasis on high-quality craftsmanship, safety procedures, and the creation of long-lasting marine vessels appropriate for the Maldives’ maritime sector.

Students will have hands-on experience with fiber-reinforced materials, boat structure layout, building maritime vessels, and maintenance techniques. Technical sketching, science and engineering measurements, woodworking, shaping and finishing surfaces, building wooden components, and safely handling industrial chemicals and materials are just a few of the fundamental skills covered in the program. Additionally, students will learn how to assemble maritime equipment and accessories, create three-dimensional molds, and carry out fit-out operations for marine vessels.
