Program Description
The National Certificate 3 in Tour Guiding is a foundational curriculum created to give students the professional competences, practical abilities, and fundamental knowledge needed to operate successfully as tour guides in the tourism sector. This program trains participants to promote the Maldives’ culture, traditions, and attractions while offering travelers exceptional, educational, and customer-focused experiences.
Students will have a solid understanding of first aid, health and safety procedures, customer service, workplace communication, and the tourism sector. Additionally, the curriculum emphasizes basic tour guiding competencies, such as organizing and running tours, providing assistance with arrivals and departures, managing tour groups, creating and presenting tour commentary, and acquiring the general knowledge needed for professional guides. Students will develop their interpersonal and communication skills to deal with travelers from a variety of cultural backgrounds while gaining hands-on experience in delivering information in an interesting and educational manner.
As cultural ambassadors of the Maldives, tour guides play a crucial role in fostering pleasant visitor experiences and enhancing the nation’s tourism reputation.
